County Commander General Overview/Comments/Direction:
Post 52 Coldwater: I have nothing to report regarding Post 52. We have not met since November and I have not had meaningful contact with anyone except our newly appointed finance officer. The Auxiliary managed to hold a drive-up bake sale in December, but I don't know how successful it was for them. I am not aware of any plans to reopen the Post upon lifting of the state restrictions.
Post 157 Quincy: Quincy post 157 is doing OK! We were able to get a section of roof replaced over the pool room! The S.A.L. paid for it. James Hawkes and his wife died from Covid-19. Could be others but those two I knew for sure. Richard Orlowski (Commander) and his wife are doing OK. She is mending slowly from broken hip; Richard is on oxygen has trouble walking very far! My family is doing good, no illness so far. I have been able to keep Post 157 bills paid up through the end of January but money is running low. I am very upset with our National and Department for offering $1000 to Post and then putting restrictions on the money. So not all posts qualify! That was a crock! Same as all small business grants we applied for. Never got a dime! I'm a VIETNAM VETERAN! I see that people really don't have any more respect than they did back then! So, you can probably tell that I'm upset about the past year and to top it off our Governor just had to keep us closed two more weeks. I'm sure a good amount of our members did not pay dues because we were closed!
Post 196 Union City: Most of you here today can visually see what Post 196 has been working on since we last met!
We are in the process of planning a St Pats Day Dinner on March 13th we are going to be selling raffle tickets for a 1st Price of $1000, 2nd of $500 & 3rd of $250 just waiting for state approval # for tickets, we will only print 150 for sale, plus each ticket’s get you one (1) meal on March 13
