Kenneth W. Glidden, age 73, of Battle Creek, passed away on February 17, 2020 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. He was a member of the American Legion Post #298, where he served as commander three times along with various other positions.

Joseph C. Underwood of Grand Ledge passed away December 13, 2018. He graduated from Albion High School and proudly served his county in the United Stated Navy. Joe retired form John Henry Co. in 2015 and was a member of the Moose and American Legion Cole-Briggs Post 48 in Grand Ledge.
At the age of 87, Gilberto, or Benny, as most people called him, was welcomed into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. Max H. Keesler, 90, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away, Friday November 2, 2018. Max was a machinist for the Grand Trunk Railroad for 33 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a union member of the International Assoc. of Machinist and Aerospace workers. Max also served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman Apprentice from 1946-1949, and in the reserve for 4 years. Max was a member of the Moose Lodge #676 in Marshall, MI, since 1953 and a member of the VFW in Baldwin, MI, since 1988. He did belong to the American Legion #298,
Larry Dewight Burbank, 68, of Battle Creek, passed away with his family by his side Friday, November 2, 2018 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Larry served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Sergeant from 1969-1973. Larry was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion Post #298.
Rex F. Asher, 83, of Battle Creek, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Heartland Rehabilitation Center in Battle Creek. A funeral will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. He graduated from Hyden High School in Kentucky and entered the U.S. Army in 1959. He served honorably and was discharged in August of 1961
Sergeant First Class Brice Joseph Travis US Army Ranger, age 34, of Marshall passed away September 17, 2018. SFC Brice J. Travis was an outstanding man, soldier and friend. He stepped forward to serve his country when he enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 21, 2006.
Ronal L. Swain, age 71, of Battle Creek, formerly of Union City, closed his eyes in this world and opened them peacefully holding the hand of Jesus on December 10, 2015. Ron served proudly in the U.S. Navy on the Destroyer, James E. Kyes, often in the waters of Vietnam from 1962-1965, and was promoted to Second Class Petty Officer within his first 18 months. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and the Marshall Moose.
Erma June Johnson died peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the age of 89. She belonged to the Vasa Lodge (Swedish) and the Order of Eastern Star. June was born in Akron, Ohio to Russell and Erma Bower. She was married to Harold Johnson.
Richard “Dick” Lee Otto, age 83, of Delton, MI passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bellevue, MI on March 5, 1935. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army’s 82nd Airborne Division from 1954 to 1956. Dick was a member of the American Legion for 34 years
Donald Keith Adams, 75, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018, at Rose Arbor Hospice. Don graduated from Lakeview High School in 1960. He joined the United States Air Force in 1962 and served faithfully until 1966. He worked as a mail carrier for the Battle Creek Post Office for over 40 years until his retirement in 2006.
James A. Deal (Jim), 86, of Albion, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence of Battle Creek, Michigan. He was born April 30, 1932, to Owen E. and F. Lucille (Parks) Deal in Hartford, Michigan. Jim was a member of American Legion Post #55 of Albion.
Keith "Pete" William Miller, 76, of Battle Creek, Michigan, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and former Commander for The Sons of the American Legion ~ Detachment #298.
Russell E. McLogan went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2018. He was born May 10, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Wendell G. and Mary Louise (Blum) McLogan. He was drafted out of college and served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Rifleman/Replacement in the 6thInfantry Division in the Liberation of the Philippines and the Post-War American/Russian Occupation of Korea. He was awarded seven medals including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.He was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans, Hillsdale 68, where he served two years as commander. He was also a Life member of The Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantryman’s Association.More recently, he served in the Honor Guard of the Leighr Wright Post 53, American Legion, marching in parades and serving in the Patriotic Ceremony at Veteran’s funerals.

He served his Country honorably and nobly in both World War II and the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army.

Robert Joseph Madeira of Battle Creek - Age 95, died Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the Heritage Assisted Living Home in Battle Creek. Bob entered the army reserves before completing high school. He was soon activated, and spent most of WWII as an Infantry Unit Commander and rose to the rank of 2 Lieutenant.

Larry R. Hayden Passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the age of 75. Larry retired from the U.S. Navy where he served from February of 1963 until his retirement in July of 1985, serving 22 years. Larry was proud to have been an active member of the Boy Scouts of America where he was awarded the Silver Beaver Award, its highest honor. He was a member of the Wednesday Honor Guard at Ft. Custer

Bob served his country honorably from 1949 until 1952 in the U.S Air Force with the Selfridge Air Force Base Air Police. Bob was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, American Legion #298, B.P.O.E, and Fraternal Order of the Eagles #299.
